Friday 9/13 - Sunday 9/15
Through a devoted Pilates practice, using all the apparatus and building our own mat practice, we as practitioners and as Pilates instructors work to develop a flexible spine. A strong and flexible spine is the result of a Pilates practice rooted in the 4 Foundations of Movement: Frame, Powerhouse, Opposition, Flexibility. In this seminar we deepen our understanding of the Classical Intermediate Pilates material through this lens, where the actions of Swan (back bending) and Horse (forward folding) are the manifestation of a fully developed flexible spine.
Using all the apparatus, with specific emphasis put on different apparatus and principles each of the three seminar days, attendees develop an understanding of the 4 Foundations of Movement in action, the connection and interrelatedness of one exercise across a variety of apparatus, and how to build flexibility and invite freedom to the body when there seems to be ‘stuckness’ or tightness. Deeply beneficial for Pilates practitioners and Pilates instructors and trainees alike.
